Research Fellow (Urban Ecology / Biodiversity / Landscape Maintenance)
The Department of Architecture at NUS invites applications for multiple research positions within an interdisciplinary research project about urban ecosystem services. Successful candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative team engaged in large-scale, externally funded projects addressing pressing urban challenges in Singapore and globally. The research fellow is expected to join at the end of 2026. The position is a one-year appointment and might be renewed up to 3 years based on the performance and career plan of the hired person.
Responsibilities
- Simulate and evaluate urban biodiversity
- Conduct field surveys and model calibration
- Quantify landscape maintenance regimes
- Contribute to design guidelines and project coordination
Qualifications
- PhD in Urban Ecology, Landscape Architecture, or related field
- Experience in biodiversity surveys and ecological modelling
- Strong analytical and visualization skills
- Ability to integrate ecological insights into design strategies
