Are you a confident problem-solver with a head for numbers and a passion for supporting academic excellence? The Faculty of MMLL is looking for a proactive Research Grants Coordinator to become the go-to expert for our thriving research community.

Based on the beautiful Sidgwick Site - just a short walk from the historic centre of Cambridge - you will join a vibrant, international Faculty. We are home to nearly 1,000 students and 140 staff across five language sections and the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. This isn't just an administrative role; you'll be a vital partner to our academics, helping them navigate the journey from initial grant enquiry to successful project delivery.

As our first point of contact for research funding, you will:

  • Guide the process: coordinate diverse grant applications, collaborating with both Faculty academics and the University's central Research Operations team.
  • Empower researchers: provide tailored advice and financial tools to help grant holders manage their projects with ease.
  • Drive improvement: use your initiative to spot 'good practice' and implement positive changes that benefit the whole team
  • Support strategy: work closely with the Director of Research to help shape the Faculty's future research landscape.

You are someone who thrives on accuracy and organisation. Whether you have a background in finance or are an experienced administrator looking to specialise in the research sector, you are:

  • A numbers person: comfortable with financial reporting and grant audits.
  • A clear communicator: able to explain complex grant requirements to a wide variety of people.
  • Independent yet collaborative: happy working on your own initiative but always ready to support your team.

Cambridge is a world-class place to work, and we offer a wide range of benefits, please see here for further details.

This position is available for an immediate start.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 3 May 2026. Interviews will be held on site the week commencing 11 May 2026, subject to change.
