The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician Associate in a lab that studies circadian clocks, sleep and metabolism using Drosophila as a model system.
The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis including: Drosophila handling, fluorescence microscopy, live imaging, imaging analysis, high-throughput genome sequencing techniques.
Additional responsibilities include: recording and analyzing data under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI), graduate students, or Postdoctoral Fellows, as well as performing other assigned duties.
A Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minimum of one year of experience are required. This position is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on laboratory experience before applying to graduate or medical school.
Experience in Drosophila handling and confocal microscopy is desired, but not required.
