Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Research Scientist responsible for establishing project priorities aligned with overall organizational goals and research objectives. In this role, the individual will design, develop, and implement in vitro experiments to evaluate improvements in wound healing outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Acts as team leader, providing project management direction
- Contributor in developing and documenting research findings and collaborator in writing scientific papers
- Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and participating in meetings/committees.
- Lead research efforts within main goals of project and help coordinate interactions with other team members and universities.
- Propose and lead independent research goals within scope of projects.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- strong background in in vitro cell-based studies, experimental design, data analysis, and the application of advanced laboratory techniques to support successful project execution and achievement of research deliverables
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
