Job Description Summary
Tvardovskiy Lab is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized individual with a strong interest in mass spectrometry and/or epigenetic research, and a long-term goal of pursuing a career in science. The research specialist will work closely with the Principal Investigator and other lab members on projects at the intersection of chromatin biology and proteomics.
Job Responsibilities
- Bacterial and eukaryotic cell culture
- Protein expression, extraction and purification; Western blot analysis
- Subcellular fractionation, including nuclei isolation from human and animal tissue samples
- Sample preparation for mass spectrometry and next-generation sequencing
- Analysis of proteomics and genomics data, including statistical evaluation and data visualization, using R or Python
- Attend and present results at lab meetings, departmental and institute seminars, and workshops
- Order reagents and supplies, maintain lab equipment, and manage documentation for projects as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Research Specialist A: Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Research Specialist B: Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
