Research Specialist
Job Summary
The Brauer Group Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is looking for a Research Specialist to assist Dr. Markus Brauer with coordinating and conducting studies. Research in the lab focuses on group phenomena. The goal is to understand how peoples thought processes, perceptions of others, and behaviors are affected by being member of a social group/category (e.g., African Americans, people with disabilities, managers). Members of the lab study these issues from both basic science and applied, public intervention perspectives.
This position can be full or part-time, between 50-100% FTE.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
- Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
- Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
- Performs literature reviews and writes reports
- Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers
