Research Teaching Specialist IV
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV within the Pediatric Population Science Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
Under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the purpose of the Research Teaching Specialist (RTS) IV position is to engage in research lab activities. The RTS IV will be involved in highly specialized and technical research within the lab, such as recruiting participants, conducting qualitative interviews and data collection, maintaining databases, analyzing data, and supporting dissemination of research findings through conference presentations and manuscripts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Participates in all aspects of research and ensures compliance with study protocols. Monitors progress of projects. Reports to the Principal Investigator on project progress, problems, and the need for adjustments.
- Supports recruitment, screening, enrollment, and consenting of participants for studies per project timelines. Ensures participant completion of study activities per protocol. Maintains study recruitment, accrual, and participation documents.
- Creates surveys using survey software programs as directed. Abstracts information from medical records per protocol, maintaining confidentiality of data.
- As directed, engages in data collection, including conducting semi-structured qualitative interviews and administering surveys per study protocol.
- Responsible for study data entry, data management, preliminary data screening, and data cleaning throughout the project.
- As directed, provides support in other data processing and analysis. Prepares reports containing findings, analysis, conclusion and recommendations (i.e., grants, summaries, etc.), as requested.
- Assists with progress reports, administrative, regulatory, and study accrual/progress updates for all assigned studies.
- Prepares materials for IRB submissions and renewals.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in a relevant science or related field (e.g., Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Health Education), or a Bachelor's degree plus one (1) year of related research experience required.
