Research Teaching Specialist IV
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the department of Medicine at the New Jersey Medical School.
Under direction, is responsible for the management of a medium-sized laboratory area. Designs and conducts highly specialized, technical research. May supervise work of technicians and be assisted by lower-level professionals.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
- Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development. Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current.
- As assigned, performs various research and technical procedures.
- Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, technicians and laboratory assistants as required.
- Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments. May be required to compile data and present results.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience.
