Research Teaching Specialist IV
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the department of Neuroscience & Cell Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, supports the daily operations and scientific infrastructure of a newly established systems neuroscience laboratory. Responsibilities span assistance with laboratory management and maintenance of shared computational analysis pipelines.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists with day-to-day laboratory operations, including maintaining lab organization, managing shared spaces, and ensuring efficient laboratory workflows. Assists with placing orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Maintains and contributes to a shared laboratory codebase, ensuring version-controlled, analysis pipelines for neural and behavioral data.
- Develops, documents, and maintains standard operating protocols (SOPs); assists with onboarding and training of new students, fellows, and research staff. Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments.
- Assists the Principal Investigator with the preparation of grant applications, progress reports, and administrative tasks.
- Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience.
