Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: Join the Kayvan Keshari Lab as a Research Technician!

The Keshari Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center studies cancer metabolism to understand how biochemical changes in tumors can be used for non-invasive diagnosis and treatment, leveraging metabolic imaging and cell engineering. You will help translate metabolic discoveries into clinical imaging and therapeutic strategies, directly advancing earlier cancer detection and more precise, patient-tailored care.

Role Overview:

  • Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
  • Techniques & Assays: Perform standard wet lab techniques, such as cell culture, flow cytometry, western blot etc.
  • Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including mouse imaging, colony maintenance, dissection, tissue/fluid collection.
  • Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
  • Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
  • Basic laboratory skills; practical experience with cell culture/western blot is highly valued as well as demonstrated experience following protocols and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working with mice is required for this role, experience with mouse models is preferred.

  • Attention to detail and strong record-keeping habits.
  • Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed and multi-task.
  • Team-oriented approach to supporting graduate students, postdocs and fellow researchers.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic lab environment.

Additional Information:

  • Location: NYC; Zuckerman Research Center
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (onsite)

Pay Range: $26.77 - $40.05 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
