Research Technician Limited Term - Stanley Lab

Job Summary

The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine invites applications for a Limited Term (1yr) Research Technician. The Technician must work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively with a diverse range of students, peers, professional administrative staff, faculty, and campus partners.

Responsibilities

• Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etc
• Collect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests
• Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
• Operate various equipment used in research studies.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Additional responsibilities: conducting mouse behavioral training, assisting with fiber photometry and data analysis, performing histological analysis, supporting lab operations, and lab manager duties.

Required Qualifications

Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. One to two years of job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• A BS/MS in neuroscience, biology, engineering, or related fields
• Experience in animal behavior, surgery, wet lab techniques including histology, and MATLAB/Python proficiency
• Excellent organizational skills are essential
