Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? NoOffer Description
As part of the RAR Audace Twinsec project, this postdoctoral position aims to enhance the security of processor architectures against physical attacks involving laser fault injection. The researcher will develop and evaluate countermeasures to detect, prevent or mitigate the effects of these attacks on processor execution. The project lies at the interface between processor architecture, hardware security and the experimental analysis of physical attacks.
The results will contribute to the development of new resilient CPU architectures and to the scientific output of the project
The objective of this PostDoc is to extend this work by leveraging RTL fault models existing in the state of the art and proposed by the TwinSec project, to assess and improve the security of RISC-V microarchitectures (e.g., OpenTitan, CV32, CVA6) and their recent countermeasures (e.g., Mafia, AKHACIA).
It aims at improving existing countermeasures or develop new ones at design level that incorporate both hardware and software protections for embedded code, such as, for example, secure boot mechanisms.
