Job description
The Magneto-Optical and THz Spectroscopy Research Group is seeking a researcher with experience in theoretical and/or physical chemistry, 2D materials and advanced molecular modelling methods. The main responsibilities will include:
- Collaboration on projects investigating the magnetic properties of molecules on 2D materials and nanomaterials.
- Theoretical design of materials (DFT calculations).
- Calculation of the magnetic properties of the studied systems.
- Characterization of nanostructures and 2D materials using advanced theoretical chemistry techniques (DFT, ab initio MD, QTAIM, multireference calculations) and data processing.
- Publication of results in scientific journals.
Requirements
- University degree in physical and theoretical chemistry or physics.
- Knowledge of quantum mechanics, thermodynamics and magnetism corresponding to university-level studies in chemistry.
- Knowledge of and practical experience with advanced methods of theoretical chemistry.
- Knowledge of and practical experience working in an HPC environment.
- Knowledge of programming in Python.
- Experience in processing 4D-STEM datasets.
- Experience in publishing results in scientific journals.
- Knowledge of the academic environment.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Employment Conditions
- Expected start date: By agreement (possible from October 2026).
- Part-time position by agreement, 6 hours per week, with the possibility of extension.
