Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the Nursing Educator collaborates with facility/market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The educator acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff. The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units while following and contributing to educational goals and visions. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through councils, committees and workgroups.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or related specialty
  • 5 -years nursing experience in an acute care setting required
  • 3-5 years critical care experience required
  • Current and Active California Board of Registered Nurse License (RN)
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • 2-3 Years CVICU (Cardiac/Open-Heart Surgery) Experience preferred
