Job Summary
The Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) are a
nationally accredited program that provides educational training,
business resources, and experienced no-cost, confidential
consulting to small business owners and entrepreneurs. The
Pennsylvania SBDC has a statewide network of 15 Centers and
outreach locations to serve small businesses. This position is part
of the Lead (i.e. statewide executive) Office and supports the
network's external communications, brand, and statewide training
coordination efforts.
This position helps carry out a unified communications approach
across social media, email newsletters, press releases, and web
content to strengthen the PASBDC network's public presence and
engage small businesses, partners, and stakeholders online, under
the direction of leadership. The incumbent supports the
coordination of training delivered across the network, helping
ensure content and scheduling are consistent statewide and
accessible to clients virtually, as directed. This includes
researching Learning Management System (LMS) options and, upon
approval and direction, supporting the design and administration of
a centralized LMS to host asynchronous training for small
businesses.
The incumbent also provides logistics support for signature
network-wide events, assisting with event budgets, vendor and venue
coordination, registration, and promotion, as assigned. This
position carries out designated communications, training, and event
tasks under the direction of the Director of Strategic
Initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public
Relations, Business, or a related field, and a minimum of two to
three years of professional experience in communications,
marketing, training coordination, or event planning; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms, email
marketing tools, and content creation.
Strong writing, editing, project management, and organizational
skills
Ability to travel across Pennsylvania and work occasional
evenings and weekends to support network events and trainings.
Candidates must have the ability to work within, and across
complex organizations and manage multiple relationships.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Graphic design proficiency (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or
similar).
Preferred Qualifications
- Small Business ownership/experience preferred but not
required.
- Experience in higher education, economic development, or
nonprofit communications.
- Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) platforms
(e.g., Moodle, TalentLMS, Litmos, Canvas.
- Experience supporting SBA-funded or other federally funded
programs
- Experience with webinar/virtual event platforms and video
editing
- Familiarity with economic development-related programs and
organizations.

The starting salary range for this position is $67,388.00 -
$76,177.00.
This position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work
arrangement, permitting a combination of on-site and remote work,
subject to applicable organizational policies, operational
requirements, and supervisory approval.
