Additional Details: There are four types of Graduate Assistantships in the School of Nursing: Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Instructional Assistant, Graduate Clinical Assistant, Graduate Teaching Associate. Graduate Research Assistant: This job includes all tasks related to research for a specific faculty member such as: data collection, entry and analysis, reviewing literature, assisting with the preparation of grant applications and reports, copying, filing, shredding, organizing lab/office space. Graduate Instructional Assistant: You may meet students in group settings to provide tutorial assistance, or assist with setting up or staffing a simulation lab, or perform other course related work. Graduate Clinical Assistant: This student may engage in clinical practice such as student counseling or perform health and wellness activities. Graduate Teaching Associate: This position serves as Instructor of Record for an undergraduate Nursing class. If hired, you will be considered for a tuition waiver based upon minimum qualifications, availability of funds, etc. All positions require work on-site. Most students work a ten-hour day, although some schedules vary.

Minimum Qualifications: To be eligible for appointments as a graduate assistant, you must: • Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0). • Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits. • Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School. • Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S.

Additional Minimum Qualifications: For some positions and responsibilities, students will be required to have an active RN license and be eligible to practice in North Carolina.
