Scientific Officer (holding the title of Educational
Psychologist) in the Department of Psychology (Ref.: 537346
) (to commence in November 2026, on a two-year fixed-term
basis with contract-end gratuity and totaling up to 15% of basic
salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory
performance and funding availability).
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will play a key role in a large-scale neurodiversity
initiative project for primary schools in Hong Kong, under the
Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences.
The appointee will be responsible for the professional oversight
and strategic implementation of the project, requiring specialised
knowledge and independent professional judgement, with major tasks
including:
- Devising and implementing a programme to foster a
neurodiversity culture for primary school students
Developing and implementing a school-wide support programme
focused on developing a neurodiversity culture in schools
Providing consultation and ongoing professional support to
educators and parents to promote students’ well-being
Organising and delivering training sessions and workshops for
educators, parents, and students
Consultation, coaching, and support for the multidisciplinary
team
Planning and implementing public education initiatives
Preparing research reports and non-technical documents
Performing any other duties as assigned
Requirements
The appointment will be offered based on the qualifications and
experience of the applicant.
The appointee should possess:
- A master's degree or higher in educational psychology or a
related field eligible for clinical practice, along with at least
three years of relevant work experience
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with experience in
managing research or community projects within psychology, social
sciences, or related fields
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
and Chinese
- Experience in consultation and coaching for a
multi-disciplinary team is preferred
- Relevant work experience in a school setting, project work, or
an additional postgraduate diploma in education is preferred.
