Job Summary:
The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (Anschutz Medical Campus) and Children's Hospital Colorado is recruiting a fellowship trained Pediatric Plastic Surgeon for a 1.0 FTE position available at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to act as Section Head for the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Program.
Nature of Work:
The Section Head of Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery will provide strategic medical leadership and direction for operations of the unit across clinical care, research, and education. Will be responsible for hospital department chair duties as outlined in Medical Staff Bylaws.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Responsible for all clinical activities in Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
- Monitor the professional performance of privileged members in the Division
- Oversee quality and appropriateness of patient care
- Responsible for developing and overseeing the education and research programs in Pediatric Surgery
- Responsible for a robust quality and safety program
- Maintain and further develop a nationally renowned research and innovation program
Fiscal Responsibilities:
Prepare annual volume and operating budgets; review monthly productivity and financial statements.
Work Location:
Onsite – Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Professor: Board Certification in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Completion of Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship (ACGME accredited), 4+ years experience.
Professor: Same plus 7+ years experience.
Preferred: Academic clinical environment, demonstrated leadership, research experience.
