Senior Academic Guide, Level I
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver proactive, student-centered academic advising and success interventions for undergraduate students served by the Center for Academic Guidance and Advising First. Utilizes a structured case management approach to identify academic risk factors and design targeted support strategies. Implements holistic advising, success coaching, and financial and resource referral practices to promote student retention, persistence, and timely degree completion, with particular attention to students facing complex or special circumstances.
- Develop and execute proactive, targeted outreach strategies for assigned students to support academic progress and retention within the Advising First and Center for Academic Guidance framework. Monitor and assess student engagement and outcomes through consistent case documentation, data tracking, and progress review. Analyze trends and intervention effectiveness to inform continuous improvement and provide data-informed recommendations to senior leadership related to program planning, student success initiatives, and performance outcomes.
- Coordinate and integrate academic and non-academic support services to address the individualized needs of assigned students using a holistic, case management approach. Collaborate with campus partners and departments to facilitate timely referrals, shared interventions, and aligned support strategies that advance university goals and promote student persistence, academic progress, and degree completion.
- Design and deliver group-based academic advising and success workshops that support students’ academic progress, graduation planning, financial wellness, and overall student success within the Advising First and Center for Academic Guidance framework. Address emerging student needs responsively by providing additional outreach, individualized support, or programmatic assistance as necessary promote retention, persistence, and timely degree completion.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
