When it comes to paychecks, details matter.Getting payroll right means more than balancing numbers. It means making sure employees are paid accurately and on time, questions get answered, financial activity is properly recorded, and the organization remains compliant.
ASI is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant, Payroll and Credit Cards to take ownership of two critical areas of our financial operations: end-to-end payroll and corporate credit card administration.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you’ll work closely with Human Resources, employees, benefit carriers and the Accounting team to ensure transactions are accurate, reconciled, documented and compliant. You’ll also supervise a Staff Accountant and help strengthen the processes and controls behind these essential functions.

- Provide additional accounting support as ASI programs and operations continue to evolve
It’s payroll week. You’re reviewing timecards and working with HR to ensure personnel changes, deductions, and benefits are reflected correctly before payroll is finalized. An employee has a question about their paycheck, so you investigate the issue and explain what happened.
Later, you’re reconciling benefit payments, preparing a payroll journal entry, and reviewing corporate credit card transactions. A receipt is missing, another transaction needs clarification, and an upcoming audit requires documentation.
You know where to find it.
That’s the kind of detail, follow-through, and accountability this position requires.
We’re Looking for Someone With- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Seven to 10 years of progressively responsible accounting and payroll experience
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong knowledge of payroll accounting and applicable federal, state and local requirements
- Experience with financial systems and accounting software
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain payroll and financial information clearly
- The ability to prioritize deadlines and keep others informed of progress, issues and timelines
- The judgment and discretion required to handle highly confidential employee and financial information
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
- Experience with Dayforce
- Experience administering corporate credit card or expense management programs
Accuracy is something you take personally.
You’re the person who spots the discrepancy others missed and keeps digging until you understand why it happened.
You can move comfortably between accounting systems, spreadsheets, and conversations with employees who may simply want to understand their paycheck.
You know that good controls protect an organization, but you also know good service matters.
And when payroll is due, you understand that “close enough” is never close enough.
