Position Summary: University Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado's (CU) four campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service, technical expertise, and the development of enterprise applications responsible for supporting CU's students, faculty, staff, and others.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst exists to assist developers and the HCM Core Application Manager with analysis, configuration, testing, implementation and troubleshooting of application issues within HCM, primarily but not limited to the HCM Core modules. The position is responsible for assisting with functional design specifications and test plans.
This position works with groups such as: Application Managers, Developers within UIS, Oracle Support, HCM, and FSCM, Employee Services staff, Consultants, Production support, Project management, Warehouse team, Campus Users, Desktop Support. This position will report to the HCM Core Application Manager and work with users on gathering all business requirements for customizations and functional configuration.
Where You Will Work: Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate to Colorado within a month of starting employment with University of Colorado System Administration. Remote - this role is eligible to work remotely within Colorado. Please note, leadership may adjust in-office work requirements with a minimum of three months' notice before any change can be implemented.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Production support items.
- Assists and supports other system integrations within HCM Core.
- Troubleshooting and Analyzing of Data and Application Issues within the Core HCM System
- Writing of functional design documents for customizations
- Writing of test plans/testing scripts and/or test scenarios
- Working with users and application managers to gather all necessary business requirements for customizations
- Responsible for tracking and maintaining all functional documents associated with any HCM system
- Completing regression testing for all system customizations
- Provide leadership and customer service to multiple campus customers and SMEs
- Completing smoke testing for PUM/Selective Adoption and PeopleTools Upgrades
- Provide coverage for modules in the absence of the application manager
- Detailed analysis of Core HCM release notes and detailed impact analysis
- Assisting with communication of release notes to the Core HCM Community
- Assisting with vendor management of the module
- Performs system analysis, program specification, systems development, and support during planned and unplanned maintenance windows
- Expand professional, technical skills and expertise by acquiring knowledge in new technologies and system development procedures and tools by attending technical classes, seminars, and end user groups
- Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Provides subject matter expertise for the Business Systems Analysts within the Core HCM Systems Team
Secondary Responsibilities
- Participation in the Higher Education community and with other Higher Education institutions to share knowledge and ensure CU is subscribing to industry trends and best practices.
- Ensuring cross training of all business processes and functional setup of the HCM Core module is dispersed to the HCM Systems Team, Employee Services, and UIS Technical staff through proper documentation and communication to establish and meet agreed upon service level agreements.
- Performs system analysis, program specification, systems development, and support during planned and unplanned maintenance windows.
- Performs all other duties as assigned

What We Offer:
Salary: The anticipated hiring range has been established at $88,000-$92,000.
CU System Administration takes into consideration a combination of the selected candidate's education, training and experience as it relates to the position, as well as the position's scope and complexity, internal pay equity and external market value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education (professional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the educational requirement)
- 4+ years' SQL experience using a tool such as TOAD or SQL Developer Utilizing PeopleSoft Query
- 4+ years' demonstrated experience testing software customizations
- 2+ years' experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2
- 2+ years' experience working within a PeopleSoft application
- 2+ years' experience with PeopleSoft upgrades and PUM/Selective adoption cycles
- 2+ years' experience understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- 2+ years' experience understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
