  • 5 weeks annual leave +5 days university holidays

  • Permanent position (37.5 hours per week)
  • Hours of work: Monday – Friday from 4am-12pm

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The Senior Cleaning Supervisor plays a key leadership role within UC Cleaning Services, ensuring the effective day-to-day coordination, supervision, and continuous improvement of in-house cleaning operations across the university campus.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety, while supporting team performance, service delivery, and operational excellence.

This includes:

  • Coordinating daily cleaning operations and supervising cleaning teams across multiple sites
  • Ensuring rosters, schedules, and workloads are effectively managed and updated
  • Supporting Cleaning Coordinators through coaching, communication, and performance feedback
  • Monitoring service quality through inspections, reporting, and quality assurance processes
  • Supporting operational reporting, data entry, and systems maintenance
  • Assisting with ordering of cleaning supplies and managing equipment issues
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and service innovation
  • Supporting emergency response and business continuity activities on campus
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance and promoting a safe working environment

  • Experience in large-scale facilities, cleaning operations, or service delivery environments
  • Proven ability to supervise, lead, and support operational teams

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse teams
  • Understanding of Health & Safety practices and safe work procedures
  • Ability to manage rosters, schedules, reporting systems, and operational data
  • Competence in supporting training, coaching, and team development
  • Commitment to UC values, including manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and tiakitanga
  • Respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice

You will work closely with the Cleaning and Logistics Manager, Cleaning Coordinators, Cleaners, and wider Property & Campus Services teams to ensure UC facilities are maintained to the highest standard for students, staff, and visitors.

Together, you will contribute to a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained campus environment that supports learning, teaching, and research excellence.
