Step into a purposeful and nationally significant role supporting the Australian Frailty Network’s FITTEST study, a multi-site randomised controlled trial transforming outcomes in healthy ageing.
As a Research Assistant, you will play a central role in coordinating and delivering high-quality research operations within a collaborative, inquisitive and values-driven environment. Working alongside leading clinicians and researchers, you will contribute to impactful research that improves the health and wellbeing of older Australians, while strengthening UQ’s reputation as a leader in evidence-based innovation.

In this dynamic role you will:
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end research administration, including ethics, governance, grants and funding processes
- Manage research data systems and reporting, ensuring integrity, compliance and continuous improvement
- Engage professionally with participants and stakeholders, supporting trial delivery with empathy and precision
- Coordinate communications, events and stakeholder engagement activities to support research visibility and impact
About You
You are a capable and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced research environment and brings both technical expertise and strong interpersonal capability. You are motivated by purpose and enjoy contributing to initiatives that make a tangible difference.
Key strengths include:
- A degree with relevant experience, or equivalent expertise in a research, administrative or technical environment
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality stakeholder service and manage complex or sensitive interactions with professionalism and sound judgement
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work both independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant research systems, with the ability to use digital tools to analyse information and improve workflows
- Experience coordinating research processes such as ethics, governance and compliance requirements
- Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and contribute to effective team and stakeholder outcomes
