Senior Electrician / Maintenance Mechanic - Housing and Conference Services

Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Electrician / Maintenance Mechanic – Housing and Conference Services for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Works independently on one or several campuses reporting directly to a supervisor in Housing Administration.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Responsible for performing a wide range of electrical tasks, including estimation, procuring appropriate materials and repairing and installing electrical circuits, wiring, fixtures and controls. Such duties may be based on work orders which provide little or no instruction or assistance.
• May guide and instruct a group of craft trainees in the performance of a wide range of electrical duties required for all Housing facilities.
• May be assigned to perform general duties in other trade areas.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High school/vocational school education or equivalent.

Special Conditions:

• Shift hours/Schedule: Mon- Fri 8:00AM – 4:30PM
