Senior Executive/Assistant Manager (Finance & Accounts)
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
- Research grant financial management. Monitor grant expenditures & allowable costs, review and track fund utilisation, work closely with research project managers & PIs to ensure timely invoicing/claim submission and follow up on grant claim receipt, etc.
- School initiatives. Manage the finances of School-level initiatives and in particular the School's regional projects and programmes.
- Procurement eg. raising purchase requests and purchase orders in Ariba SmartBuy
- Perform regular reviews on financial reports as part of risk control management and mitigation.
- Finance Business Partner. Resource person to PIs, project managers and research staff on finance/budget matters, provide guidance on NUS finance policies and guidelines to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on grant and School queries and audit queries raised from time to time.
- Other ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent from a recognised institution
- Good analytical, writing, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a high degree of stress tolerance
- Meticulous, resourceful, innovative and self-directed with a positive work attitude, responsive and adaptive to changes
- Good team player, pleasant disposition, able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word.
- Knowledge in software/apps such as SAP S4 HANA, Power BI or other reporting tools will be advantageous.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Prior experience working in a higher education institution environment is highly valued.
