Job Description
As part of the BBA Curriculum team, the Senior Executive/Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting both administrative and student-facing functions of the NUS Business School undergraduate programme. The role manages important academic processes, such as course registration, Independent Study Courses (ISC), BIZ Dissertation, class scheduling, the Advance Placement Test (APT), and University processes relating to Leave of Absence (LOA), degree withdrawals, and Tuition Fee Waivers.
This position is suited for someone who is independent, organised, and meticulous, and who can work effectively with students, departments, faculty members, and other University units. The incumbent will also support the Team Lead in driving improvements through automation, process refinement, data analysis, and course planning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Administration and Student Support
- Support the Course Registration Exercise, including system setup, appeals processing, and student enquiries.
- Manage Independent Study Course (ISC), including application review, course allocation, monitoring timelines, and gathering student feedback.
- Administer BIZ Dissertation processes, including application review, course allocation, timeline management, appointment of examiners, final presentation and grade submission.
- Support class scheduling for all BIZ undergraduate courses, venue booking.
- Support Advance Placement Test (APT) operations, including registration, release of outcomes/results, invigilation, and Advance Placement Credit posting.
- Review and process Leave of Absence (LOA) applications, including assessing documents and preparing recommendations to the Deanery for complex cases.
- Handle University Withdrawal requests, including document review, student support and counselling, and preparing recommendations to the Deanery.
- Process Tuition Fee Waiver applications, including document review and recommendations to the Deanery and follow-up action with central units.
Faculty Support and Engagement
- Foster and sustain strong working relationships with department administrators and faculty members involved in ISC, Dissertation supervisors, APT, and related matters.
- Work closely with faculty members, supervisors on ISC/dissertation/APT and related matters (e.g., topic scoping, supervision logistics, grade scheme alignment) to uphold academic rigour and integrity.
- Act as a link between students, faculty members, departments, and the Deanery as needed.
Student Experience and Service Delivery
- Monitor student progress for ISC and dissertation, including periodic checks and adherence to submission deadlines.
- Ensure consistent, transparent, and timely communication to students on expectations, requirements, and assessment criteria.
- Manage student enquiries and provide accurate guidance, including directing students to relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
