Senior Executive, Faculty Research Centre(FASS)

Job Description

You will provide administrative and operational support - supporting the activities of both Faculty Research Centres—the Social Service Research Centre (SSR) and the Centre for Population Research (CFPR).

This position is responsible for coordinating and managing centre operations, including research administration, financial processes, training programmes, seminars and conferences, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with Centre Directors, researchers, and university administrative units, the position supports the centres’ research, training, and outreach objectives.

The successful candidate will be offered an initial one-year contract, with the potential for subsequent renewals of a longer duration, subject to performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the administrative operations of the Faculty Research Centres
  • Manage financial administration functions, including budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, claims processing, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements
  • Administer end-to-end grant management processes for centre research projects, including grant application, variations, grant report submission and financial monitoring, ensuring timely submissions and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of seminars, conferences, workshops, and centre events, including logistics, budgeting, publicity, and post-event reporting.
  • Support the delivery of training programmes by coordinating training administration.

Qualifications

  • Degree in any discipline with relevant administrative experience
  • Experience in research, academic or tertiary education environment will be an advantage.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
