Description

The Sr. Instruction Content Developer works with the Associate Dean of La Mesa Academy to assess the needs of La Mesa faculty, students, and academic staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as project manager and oversees the development of instructional materials.
• May supervise project staff.
• Serves as liaison with outside agencies in the development of instructional materials.
• Works with faculty to develop instructional materials (both continuing education and for graduate credit) for delivery in traditional face-to-face, web-based, and CD-ROM/DVD environments.
• Researches and develops case studies based on relevant subject matter or events for delivery using computer and distance learning technologies.
• Works in collaboration with multimedia developers to develop instructional materials.
• Assists faculty in integrating instructional technologies in their classrooms.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

• Conduct analysis of instructional and learning requirements for La Mesa and assist in developing plans and strategies to meet those requirements for La Mesa.
• Assist in planning and implementation of La Mesa courses and will provide training classes and workshops to provide users with numerous support tools and functions.
• May meet with faculty or subject matter experts to identify key learning objectives for courses, helping them design the content and make it available online.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or related field and five years of adult education experience OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
• The ability to manage multiple projects; strong oral and written communication skills; and the ability to interact with both faculty and staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Current knowledge on pedagogical issues related to education and technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fluency in English and Spanish, as well as strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, in both English and Spanish.
• Experience communicating and working with people from different cultural backgrounds. Preference for experience working with Hispanic/Latinx ecclesial communities, including those committed to theological education.
• The ability to manage multiple projects; strong oral and written communication skills; and the ability to interact with both faculty and staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Current knowledge on pedagogical issues related to education and technology.
• Experience in instructional design, training delivery, or learning consultation experience.
• Experience with Canvas LMS and Articulate Storyline.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
