Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Senior Project Scientist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.
We are seeking creative and energetic Senior Project Scientist that is responsible for determining priorities for project area based on overall organizational goals. The incumbent will direct the work of project members to ensure goals are achieved. Frequently presents research findings to current or potential sponsors and at major national or international conferences.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as team leader, providing project management direction.
- Contributor in developing and documenting research findings and collaborator in writing scientific papers.
- Lead advanced research activities, ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements, and support dissemination and transition of research outcomes.
- Lead research efforts within main goals of project, and help coordinate interactions with other team members and universities.
- Propose and lead independent research goals within scope of projects.
- Provide scientific and technical leadership for complex research projects, including defining project scope, milestones, and deliverables, and ensuring alignment with sponsor and organizational objectives.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison with sponsors and collaborators while mentoring and guiding junior researchers and project team members.
- Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and participating in meetings/committees.
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree
- 8-10 Years of Research Experience
Training:
- OSHA - Hazardous Materials Safety Training
