ACADEMY OF GEOGRAPHY, SOCIOLOGY AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

The Academy is calling for applications for the position of a Senior Research Assistant or a Research Assistant for a research project on Digital Labor in Urban Chinese Families.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Principal Investigator in data collection and data analysis for the project;
• Conduct information and literature search for the Principal Investigator;
• Arrange and assist the Principla Investigator in field work in mainland China;
• Coordinate with internal and external parties for the project; and
• Take up some administrative duties when necessary.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree or above in Sociology or related Social Science disciplines; applicant with a master’s degree in Sociology or related Social Science displines and fieldwork experiences in mainland China will be advantages;
• Knowledge and experiences of doing qualitative interviews and field observations;
• A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, conversational Mandrine; and
• Responsible, independent, and detail oriented.

The initial appointment will be offered on a contract of six months. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
