The candidate will work with a team of business development managers, regulatory specialists, and manufacturing engineers to prepare the product for commercialization. This will involve the robust characterization of the product for its mechanical, biocompatibility, procoagulant and wet adhesive properties, among others. The study will involve a broad range of in vitro testing following industry standards, alongside large animal validation studies (non-GLP and GLP, non-survival and survival). Other duties include the management of the laboratory (safety and logistics), supervision of students (undergraduate and graduate) and contribution to research grants preparation.

  • Preferably with 5 years of postdoctoral experience in a relevant research field.

The following skills are a requisite:

  • Biomaterial development, which may include mechanical processing, chemical synthesis, additive manufacturing or microfabrication (or other relevant techniques)
  • Material characterization and testing (mechanical, biocompatibility, surface chemistry, electron microscopy)
  • Blood handling, processing and characterization (biochemistry, biophysics, histology, etc.)
  • Familiar with animal study design, execution and associated administrative procedures
  • Familiar with laboratory management and operations (safety, procurement, documentation, etc.)
  • Experience and expertise in thrombosis biology and molecular biology will be an advantage.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
