About us

The Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology is part of UCL’s Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS). Psychology at UCL was ranked 2nd in the world in the Shanghai University Rankings. This reflects the excellent links between teaching, professional training and research within PALS, the wide range of research expertise represented within PALS and UCL more widely, and the excellent opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary research provided at UCL.

The Research Department has a strong record in the development and evaluation of novel psychological interventions based on an understanding of neuroscience, developmental psychology and the mechanisms underpinning mental disorders. It has excellent collaborations with the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology and Psychiatry, and with NHS clinical services.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Research Fellow who will lead and support on research grant proposals for new research projects. They will oversee the implementation of ongoing and new quantitative and qualitative research projects. They will be overseeing the implementation of service development projects. Contributing to the dissemination of research findings by leading on and supporting the writing of articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presenting the work at conferences and networking events.

This post will be based in the NICE Specialist Mental Health Guideline Development Group based in the Department of Clinical Educational and Health Psychology and will contribute to the development of NICE guidelines including, but not limited the development of mental health guidelines. Experience of systematic reviews focused on the effectiveness of health care interventions is essential and experience of network mental analysis and guideline development would be a welcomed.

About you

The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of systematic reviews, relevant statistical techniques and evidence synthesis as well as a relevant PhD. The successful candidate will be able to work as a member of a range of multi-disciplinary teams and including people with lived experience of a disorder, their families and carers. The ability to work with multi-disciplinary committees is also essential, as is excellent communication skills in a variety of media including oral, written and electronic.

The successful candidate should be able to start in post as soon as possible.
