The appointee will be involved in a few research projects led by Professor Matthew Ming-tak CHEW, an Associate Professor at the Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries at Lingnan University (https://www.ln.edu.hk/daci/our-people/faculty/prof-matthew-ming-tak-chew). These research projects aim at producing journal articles on citizens’ reception of popular and social culture in China and Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
- Collate several sets of already collected quantitative survey data
- Perform quantitative data analyses based on these sets of data
- Support in conducting qualitative in-depth interviews
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Sociology, Social Policy, Cultural Studies, Political Science, Communications, Psychology, or related disciplines
- Proficiency in using statistical analysis software (SPSS or others)
- Possess sound knowledge of quantitative research methods and the ability to interpret results effectively
- Basic familiarity with critical social science and humanities
- The ability to work independently
- Previous experience in undertaking social statistics research is highly preferred
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
The appointee is expected to meet the Project Investigator regularly to report the progress.

Salary and Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for a period of up to 11 months.
