We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Research Programme Coordinator to join the School of Medicine within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. This role plays a critical part in enabling high-quality research by providing end-to-end research management support across the full research lifecycle. Working closely with researchers and key University partners, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping navigate research support services while ensuring governance, compliance, and funder requirements are met.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality operational and administrative research support across the full research lifecycle
- Guiding researchers in navigating University research support services and act as a key point of contact for projects
- Ensuring compliance with University, client, and funder governance, policy, and contractual requirements
- Acting as a subject matter expert for identified funding rounds and research management capability areas
- Leading and contributing to process improvement, documentation, and research service development initiatives
- Supporting pre-award activities including proposal development, costing, approvals, and submissions
- Managing complex and high-risk research portfolios, including post-award project coordination and reporting
This is a fulltime (37.5h per week), permanent position.
The salary range for this role is $73,400 - $90,700, depending on skills and experience

You are a confident and highly organised research management professional who enjoys working autonomously in a complex, fast-paced environment. You bring a collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder management skills, enabling you to build trusted relationships with researchers, funders, and service partners. You are comfortable working with ambiguity, enjoy solving problems, and are motivated by supporting research that makes a real-world impact.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience
- At least five years’ experience in research management, including supporting complex projects
- Strong knowledge of research funding processes, governance, and compliance requirements
- Advanced organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, with financial acumen
