The following position will be filled at the Department of Media and Communications at the Faculty of Social Sciences with the preferred starting date as soon as possible:

Senior Scientist with doctorate/PhD

Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week)

Salary: € 70,200.20 per annum (gross)

Limited to: 5 years

Application deadline: July 8, 2026

Your responsibilities

International research activities, including publications and presentations at conferences
Teaching, especially in the English-language BA programme “Digital Media, Culture, and Communication (DMC²)”
Supervision of students
Participation in third-party funding applications
Engaging in collaboratively building tutorials for quantitative methods/CSS

Your profile

Doctoral/PhD degree in Media and/or Communication Research
Research experience in Media and/or Communication Research
Skills in quantitative methods and/or computational approaches
Teaching experience
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English (at least C1)
Good knowledge of spoken and written German (at least B1)
