We are now looking for a Senior Solution Scientist to join our Nuclear power plant analysis team.

As a Senior Solution Scientist, your work revolves around creation of new customer opportunities for transferring and developing VTT’s knowledge and technology, ensure an excellent customer experience, and identify new business opportunities.

In this position, you will have an essential role at the interface between research & development and customer work. You will be working on development of simulation models and approaches for fission and fusion power plants and other process systems together with our team of highly qualified experts and connecting the know-how and capabilities to real-world customer needs.

Our team, Nuclear power plant analysis, works on simulation-based studies of nuclear and other power plants and other industrial process systems. We also develop the Apros process simulation software with innovative and versatile capabilities for efficient and reliable simulation. Our team contributes to VTT’s bigger mission of solving global challenges through science and technology through facilitating the adoption of carbon-neutral energy systems by means of modelling and simulation.

As Senior Solution Scientist, you will:

  • Work on development of Apros-based simulation models, contributing to solution of real-world industrial problems, at the same time forming a solid understanding of the capabilities and potential of the team and the simulation software
  • Actively identify and create customer opportunities for our simulation services and Apros software, and turn opportunities into customer projects
  • Act as a project manager for Apros-related customer and development projects
  • Work directly with our Apros-customers in identifying and solving their problems, and training them in use of the software

Who we are looking for:

  • You have a master’s degree or doctoral degree in engineering, with solid experience on applying simulation and modelling to solution of industrial problems in the context of research and development projects
  • You have multiple years of experience in technology sales to be able to support the team in developing current customer relationships and finding new leads
  • You have excellent interaction and communication skills, and the ability to build sustainable and high-quality customer relationships
