Simulation Facilitator
Position Summary
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences Department of Nursing at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a 12-month, full time Simulation Facilitator position, to join our community starting in July 2025. This is a 12 month, in-person position with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
The Simulation Facilitator, Simulation and Clinical Learning Resource Center plays a key role in supporting nursing faculty and students by enhancing clinical education through simulation-based learning. Working closely with the Simulation Coordinator and faculty, this position ensures that simulation experiences align with curricular needs while maintaining the mission and philosophy of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Responsibilities include mentoring faculty in simulation design and implementation, providing hands-on instruction, facilitation simulations, and fostering a culture of excellence in simulation-based education.
Key duties involve collaborating with faculty to develop and implement simulations, with faculty serving as content experts. Additionally, this role will lead summer simulation sessions for the ABSN program, contribute to departmental initiatives such as committees, grants, and events, and support student learning through classroom and clinical lab instruction, evaluation, and remediation.
Other responsibilities include managing clinical makeup and remediation guidelines, assisting with student performance evaluations, and participating in recruitment activities such as facility tours, open houses, and accepted student events, which fall on occasional evenings and weekends. This position requires a commitment to innovation in nursing education and the ability to support faculty and students in achieving excellence in clinical practice through simulation.
Qualifications
- Clinical and classroom teaching experience in Nursing.
- Working knowledge of curriculum development and assessment.
- Experience with or willingness to develop expertise with clinical simulation.
- Experience in healthcare.
Preferred Qualifications
- Requires an MSN in Nursing.
- CHSE or CHSOS preferred but willing to consider person who has desire to achieve this certification.
- At least 3 years of simulation experience including competency in simulation-based education.
- Experience in clinical and classroom nursing education with working knowledge of curriculum development and assessment.
- Knowledge of MicrosoftTM Office and G Suite. Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS’s).
