Set up simulation rooms with appropriate props, medical
supplies, moulage, and environmental cues.
Support the development and execution of simulation scenarios
by managing the physical and technical environment.
Troubleshoot equipment and software issues in real time to
minimize interruptions.
Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies and
consumables.
Record and archive simulation sessions using AV software;
assist with playback and video debriefing.
Collaborate with Director of Clinical Simulation to ensure
simulation goals and objectives are met through proper
execution.
Maintain simulation center in a clean, organized, and
functional state.
Stay current with simulation technology trends and make
recommendations for upgrades or improvements
Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing professional
development activities as requested
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
consistent with the mission and values of UMKC and the School of
Nursing and Health Studies
Participate in briefing and debriefing sessions as
appropriate
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare,
biomedical equipment, IT, or a related technical field.
- Experience with technical equipment and software; comfort with
computers, AV systems, and troubleshooting.
- Comfort with role-playing and performing as part of simulated
healthcare scenarios; basic acting skills or willingness to
participate in character-based simulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in a
physically active environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or technical field.
- Prior experience working in simulation, healthcare education,
or clinical environments.
- Familiarity with simulation platforms such as Laerdal, CAE, or
Gaumard.
- Experience using AV capture/debrief systems such as SimCapture,
LearningSpace, or B-Line.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical processes

Other Information
This is a part-time non-benefit eligible, unranked academic
position. Hours are based on the department need and applicant
availability. For Fall 2026 hours will range from 8 to 22 hours per
week.
