Soc/Clin Research Assistant
Position Summary
The project coordinator will work closely with the UNC Principal Investigator on an NIH-funded project focused on improving engagement in HIV care and prevention services in North Carolina. The responsibilities of the coordinator include, but are not limited to, program planning and implementation, oversight of data collection and monitoring, and coordination of project related activities in Mecklenburg, and surrounding counties. The coordinator will supervise all day-to-day activities of other project staff and coordinate activities between health department partners and UNC-Chapel Hill, coordinate and participate in team meetings, help develop data collection instruments, and lead data management activities. Other duties will include assisting in the development, management, and implementation of new HIV/STD public health projects through the UNC-CBD collaboration. The coordinator will also participate in data analysis, literature review, IRB submissions, and manuscript preparation.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
- Proficiency in REDCap instrument design, and a statistical software such as R (preferred), STATA, or SAS, or electronic reporting systems.
- Prior experience with project coordination or supervision.
- Previous experience working with public health projects involving STDs/HIV.
- Understanding of the complexities of networks built through epidemiologic, social, or molecular cluster surveillance data.
