SOECS Recruiting Ambassador
Primary Purpose:
The SOECS Recruiting Ambassador reports to SOECS Recruitment Director and serves as a representative of the School of Engineering and Computer Science, supporting new student recruitment and outreach efforts. Ambassadors engage prospective students and families, share authentic student experiences, and promote SOECS academic programs through events, communications, and peer-to-peer interaction.
Essential Functions:
- Represent SOECS at recruitment events including tours, open houses, information sessions, and college fairs.
- Engage prospective students and families by sharing academic experiences and program knowledge.
- Support recruitment and yield efforts through admitted student events and follow-up activities.
- Assist with planning, setup, and execution of outreach and recruitment events.
- Participate in panels, presentations, and classroom visits.
- Contribute to special programs such as summer camps and preview events.
- Serve as a positive and professional representative of SOECS.
- Respond to inquiries via email, phone, and social media platforms.
- Collaborate with ambassadors and staff to ensure consistent messaging.
- Assist with social media, blogs, and student-focused marketing content.

Minimum Qualifications:
- SOECS graduate (undergraduate or graduate).
- Availability for evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in leadership, recruitment, or higher education.
- Experience in student leadership, mentoring, outreach, or public speaking.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.
- Good time management and organization skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Comfortable speaking in individual and group settings.
- Ability to represent SOECS positively and accurately.

- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
Physical Requirements:
Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Valid driver's license required.
Hiring Range:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour.
