Spanish: Adjunct Instructor – NEW!
The Modern Languages Department at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia invites applications for an adjunct instructor to teach Elementary Spanish for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a part-time, one-year position beginning September 1, 2026.
The teaching load for the year will be four (4) classes. Teaching responsibilities will be two sections of Elementary Spanish I in the fall and two sections of Elementary Spanish II in the spring.
Applications are welcome from candidates willing to teach language classes, and as a rigorous and innovative teaching institution, Hollins encourages interdisciplinary approaches that emphasize the growing relevance of Spanish as a global language.
Candidates must have a master’s or Ph.D. degree in Spanish in hand by September 1, 2026. The successful applicant will show a strong commitment to teaching at a liberal arts institution and demonstrate the ability to teach students from a broad range of backgrounds.
Screening of candidates will begin on May 1, 2026 and will continue until the position is filled.
