Position Overview
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites highly motivated applicants for a position in the Specialist series. The Wang research group is developing biomaterials for drug and vaccine delivery, and the specialist in this position will investigate the mechanisms of immune responses that are elicited after viral infection and vaccination.
Position Description
The research project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between research groups in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and the School of Medicine at UC Irvine. The ideal applicant should have experience in the following areas:
- protein expression and purification
- in vivo and in vitro approaches to examine T and B cell development
- multiplex cytokine analyses, flow cytometry, ELISA- and ELISpot-based assays, and neutralization assays
- viral models to understand infection
Good organization, communication, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, or other relevant field.
