Position Description

The Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings in the Specialist Series in various divisions including Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Cardiology, Nephrology and Hypertension, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, General Internal Medicine and Primary Care, Rheumatology, Hematology/Oncology, and Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Required: CV, Statement of Research, Sexual Misconduct, Harassment and Discrimination Declaration Form.

Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Applications will be considered until positions are filled.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

• Junior Specialists: Baccalaureate degree or equivalent research experience.
• Assistant Specialists: Master's degree or five years of experience demonstrating expertise.
• Associate Specialists: Master's degree or five to ten years of experience, with a record of academic accomplishments.
• Full Specialists: Terminal degree or ten or more years of experience, with a significant record of academic accomplishments.
