Required Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of operating and maintaining steam, chilled water, and condensate systems, including steam-powered equipment and pipe fitting.
- Familiar with TCEQ regulatory requirements for water production and sampling procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair mechanical systems, and resolve operational issues.
- Ability to use measuring tools, read schematics, operate mechanical equipment, and maintain electronic work logs.
- Capable of working at heights exceeding 150 ft, in extreme temperatures and confined spaces, interacting effectively with others, and participating in on-call rotations.
- Must be able to obtain TCEQ Class “D” Water License within two years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working within a Public Water System.
- Current TCEQ Class “D” Water Operator License.
- Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
Job Description:
Responsible for operating and maintaining all steam, condensate, potable water systems, and associated equipment.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for operating and maintaining all steam, condensate, potable water systems, and associated equipment.
- Perform repair and replacement of all chilled water, steam, and condensate lines on campus.
- Rebuild and repair pumps and motors.
- Check University and Freeman Ranch water wells.
- Fill out time sheets on a computer and complete work orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information to Applicants:
The selected candidate will participate in a monthly on-call rotation outside standard working hours and may occasionally work extended hours to support special events, emergency responses, or critical projects.
