Stipendiary Lecturer in Economics (6 weighted hours per week)
Oriel College seeks to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Economics (principally Microeconomics) for the academic year 2026/27 (with the possibility of renewal for further years). Candidates should hold or be studying for a doctorate in Economics, and should be able to demonstrate relevant teaching experience. The teaching load is for 6 weighted hours per week, which corresponds to 4 contact hours when students are seen in groups of 3. These figures are averages over the academic year and the precise teaching requirement is explained in more detail in the job description.
The basic stipend will be according to the Senior Tutors’ Committee recommended scale for full-time stipendiary lecturers with a teaching stint of 6 hours per week (£16,905 – £18,669 per annum, depending on experience and subject to uplift). Contributory membership of USS (the Universities Superannuation Scheme) is also offered. The post-holder will also have access to a research allocation of £1,167 per annum (subject to uplift). The Lecturer will be entitled to free lunch and dinner in the Senior Common Room and use of a shared office space if available.
