Strategic Liaison between CIS and University Departments

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a strategic liaison between CIS and University departments.
  • Facilitating the development and implementation of the Digital Strategy.
  • Advocating for departmental needs within CIS to ensure service excellence.
  • Leading change management initiatives to optimise technology adoption.
  • Identifying opportunities for improved use of digital services.
  • Keeping end users informed of CIS developments and service performance.
  • Providing advice on technical matters (supported by subject experts) to ensure proposed developments offer the best solutions.
  • Advocating for the departments you represent.
  • Establishing user requirements.

Expectations for this role:

  • Work in close collaboration with the Head of Science Education and International Operations, the Vice Dean of the Joint Education Institute (JEI), JEI Learning and Teaching team and other colleagues in the JEI project.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and stakeholders across the University, including PVCs, Heads of Colleges, Heads of Departments, and Services.
  • Depending on business requirements, may be required to travel to China for 1-2 weeks annually, to foster intercultural communication and build relationships with China-based stakeholders - or to support key onboarding processes.
  • Advocate for innovative solutions, best practices, and knowledge exchange.
  • Stay informed about technology, processes, and legislation to identify opportunities supporting the University's strategy.
  • Advocating for JEI needs within CIS to ensure service excellence
  • Keeping end users informed of CIS developments and service performance.
  • Advocate for innovative solutions, best practices, and knowledge exchange, and lead change management initiatives to optimise technology adoption and use.
  • Consider in-flight contractual changes to CIS software licensing and other contractual agreements, as pertaining to use in China. Suggest solutions and processes to mitigate potential impact of geopolitical/legislative shifts on successful JEI operations.

The role will require travel to the main University campus whilst hybrid working is also available.
