Street Maintenance Technician III
Job Summary
This role is an essential part of the UW–Madison Concrete and Asphalt Construction Crew within the Grounds Department. As a member of this team, you’ll help keep our campus safe, accessible, and looking its best by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing hard surfaces such as sidewalks, curbs, steps, asphalt pads, paths, and parking lots- all across our beautiful UW–Madison grounds.
You’ll also get hands-on experience with landscaping projects, building retaining walls, and supporting snow removal efforts during the winter season.

Full-Time: 100% FTE
Hours generally scheduled Monday-Friday, 6:00am- 2:30pm. Occasional nights, weekends and holidays may be required for this position. Work is performed onsite.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
- Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
- Landscaping and retaining wall building
- Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
- Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities
- Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
- Performs snow removal using a variety of equipment
