Student Assistant - Czarnota

Position Summary

This position will assist faculty and staff with greenhouse, research and field plots. As well as help with extension and teaching activities. This position will work both indoors and outdoors with minimum supervision. There will also be some work in a greenhouse environment. Duties may also include intermittent out-of-town travel to research plots. Computer experience with word processing, spread sheet, and graphics software is a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities

Nursery/Greenhouse: work including but is not limited to potting, pruning, weeding, grafting, seeding, data entry, maintaining research plots, watering, fertilizer and pesticide applications running and maintaining nursery equipment located at the campus and local research farms. (50%)

Laboratory work: including but is not limited to washing dishes, preparing research samples, processing samples, data entry, running and maintaining lab equipment. (25%)

Teaching & Extension: help with activities associated with preparation of teaching a weed science lab and assist with editing extension publications. (25%)
