Student Assistant, Part Time

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Under supervision of Business Administrator, the Student Assistant will perform and assists with laboratory services and procedures in support of research activities of the laboratory.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• As directed, assists in packing, unpacking, storage and maintenance of lab supplies and materials.
• Assists with cleaning and storage of glassware and ensuring that associated equipment is kept clean.
• With direction, assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
• Helps maintain records and files.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Current Rutgers student enrolled in undergraduate/graduate studies at Rutgers University; preference for a student with some laboratory knowledge.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Work Environment: Laboratory environment. Moderate Noise.
