General Description
The Student Computer Center (SCC) TAP tutor is responsible for providing tutorial assistance to students in the computer laboratory setting, in the discipline(s) listed under job duties.
Reports To: The SCC Supervisor and SCC Evening Supervisor

No other positions report to this position
Minimum Education/Experience
Successful completion of six (6) or more credit hours of IT courses or equivalent.
AND
Qualified to tutor in designated tutor subject area and must receive recommendation from a laboratory supervisor or professor indicating that tutor is qualified.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry computer and peripheral equipment.
Work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, stable, and indoor office, classroom, and lab work environment.
Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
Work is performed during afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.
Preferred Qualifications
Completed two advanced courses above tutoring level
Work Hours: Flexible hours allowed between operating hours of 9am-9pm Monday thru Thursday, 9am-5pm Friday, and 9am-3pm Saturday.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)
- Implement a tutoring system and be able to receive directions from lab supervisor.
- Tutor one or more particular subject(s) ( i.e Vista, XP, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Autocad or 3DS Max, Beginning Programming, Advanced Programming, Web Site Development, Multimedia)
Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures)
- Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
- Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
- Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
- Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
- Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
